Nordegg is by far my favourite spot in the Canadian Rockies to paint. I’m not 100% sure why but I just love the mountains here and the fact that it’s a little quieter and still so beautiful. The reference photo for this particular painting is one I took just this past summer when we went up for the long weekend. It was super smoky, but I still managed to get some good shots and come away with this (in my opinion) very pretty painting.
